A solar eclipse electrified all of North America on the afternoon of April 8, 2024, especially for those living under the path of totality. On Manitoulin Island, Ontario, we didn't get a full eclipse but my telescope caught some terrific images. Note the large sunspot. As well, if you look closely at the rim of the moon, you can see the lunar topography--mountains and valleys and peaks.
